To all bassists If you would like help with your 3 octave scales and arpeggios, contact me via email. Also, it is imperative that you listen to the recording that Raymond provided. Be sure to analyze how our part supports the composition of the piece. Always keep in mind, our ultimate goal is to convey the meaning the composer expresses in the piece, listening to professional recordings is a great way to do so. One more thing, I CANNOT HEAR ANYONE IN THE SECTION. Seriously, I'm not much more than 10 yards from Susan and I can't hear anyone. I understand if playing incorrectly is embarrassing, but I don't care. The entire orchestra knows I embarrass myself more than anyone else, so I encourage you to make yourself heard (but don't be a jerk and play way too loud).
